Heating
Everybody knows. The air nozzles of the Landrover Defender deliver warm air during summer and cold air during winter, no matter how you set the heating/cooling system. In addition, my car has as many holes as a Swiss cheese. Therefore, I spent quite some time how to tackle the problem (specially with heating).
Final result was that I had to improvise should my budget not be stressed too much. Therefore, my solutions are by far not perfect and only include the 'living' area. I don't even know whether they would be sufficient at very low temperature (-30 degree Celsius an below). On the other hand I also want to grant my Zebra some warmth (batteries, engine, diesel). There are numerous solutions (heating mats, isolation, heating of the cooling water etc). Disadvantage: Most of the systems make havy use of the car battery or are dependent on external power supply. Although I have two heavy-duty car batteries in my Zebra (100A each), I do not know whether that would be sufficient. Anyway, although my car is not equiped for arctic circumstances, the istallations are sufficient for normal use.
